FFPD is bringing a County chipper to our community. Working together to manage vegetation along roadsides and private roads — improving emergency access and reducing fire risk.
Overgrown vegetation along roadsides and private roads is a fire hazard — dense brush and trees create fuel loads that accelerate fire spread and slow emergency response. The Felton Fire Protection District is partnering with the County to house a mobile chipper on-site at our station. This proactive program brings firefighters and community volunteers together on vegetation management projects throughout the FFPD area — reducing fire risk while improving emergency access.

We'll reach out to discuss scope, timeline, and what we can handle.

Better emergency access, reduced fire risk, healthier landscape.
This program is open to all homeowners and property managers throughout the FFPD area. There are no restrictions or Firewise requirements — if you have vegetation along a roadside easement that needs managing, we want to help.
