Notice of Vacancy – for the position of Fire District Director.
Interested persons are hereby notified that pursuant to Government Code §1780 there is a vacancy on the Felton Fire Protection District Board of Directors.
The Fire Board is accepting applications to fill an open position until the next general election.
The position to be filled is for a term ending December 2028. The seat will be filled by appointment in July 2025 to fill the balance of the term.
The Fire Board-appointed person shall hold office until the next general district election. The person elected to fill the vacancy at the general election shall fill the balance of the unexpired term as per Government Code §1780 (a).

Applications are available at the Felton Fire Protection District Office at 131 Kirby Street Felton, Ca. 95018. (831) 335-4422.
The application period is open for 10 days beginning July 9, 2025, and appointment will be made on or after July, 25.
Applicants must be residents of the Felton Fire Protection District. Residency can be confirmed by the County of Santa Cruz or by calling the Felton Fire Protection District (831) 335-4422
Applications will be screened by the Fire Board and interviews scheduled for July 21. Applications must be turned into the District office prior to 5pm on July 19, 2025.
Applications after that date will not be accepted. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8 am 12pm and 1 pm- 5 pm.
