It is with a heavy collective heart that the Felton Fire District announces the passing of Firefighter Luna Mello. Firefighter Mello served with the fire district from 2022 to present.
Firefighter Mello was on medical leave when she was found unresponsive and not breathing. Firefighter Mello is survived by her mother, father, and brother.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Luna and the district pledges support during these difficult times.
Firefighter Mello had until time of injury been a solid responder and a source of stability for the district and someone who could always be counted on to provide shift coverage and respond to calls when needed.
In honor of Firefighter Mello, the flag at the Felton Fire District will be flown at half-staff for one week and the district vows to continue moving forward in her memory.
If there are further questions regarding Firefighter Mello or her employment with the fire district, we kindly ask that they be directed to the Fire Chief to allow the family privacy in their time of loss.
Luna will be sincerely missed by all her brothers and sisters of the Felton Fire District.
